Recon Technology has secured multiple sections of an oilfield production informatization system integration project in China worth approximately RMB9.6 million ($1.33 million), with delivery and final acceptance expected by July 2028.
The Nasdaq-listed oilfield services company said its domestic affiliated entity, Nanjing Recon Technology Co., Ltd., won the work through a competitive tender conducted by a leading Chinese oil and gas operator.
The RMB9.6 million contract value excludes value-added tax, while the final amount will depend on the actual workload delivered across individual sub-projects.
Delivery will be aligned with the oil and gas operator’s wider project schedule. Construction and final acceptance of the complete programme are expected to be finished no later than July 2028.
Project supports oilfield digitalisation
The contract covers technical services associated with production informatization system integration, an area in which Recon has been expanding its capabilities as Chinese oil and gas operators increase investment in digital and automated operations.
Recon’s existing services include production information system integration, intelligent station construction and industrial Internet of Things deployment.
The company said it has been developing its technical solutions and project management systems as it expands its presence across China’s oil and gas fields.
Shenping Yin, chief executive officer of Recon Technology, said: “We are very honored to stand out among multiple leading industry players and be selected as the technical service provider for this key production informatization construction project.”
“This award validates our technical capabilities and project execution strength in oilfield automation and digitalization, and reflects the trust from our core clients.”
Delivery to run through 2028
Recon will deploy technical and project delivery resources to support implementation of the new systems, which are intended to contribute to the safe, efficient and increasingly automated operation of the client’s production facilities.
The project adds to Recon’s portfolio of digitalisation and automation work within China’s domestic oil and gas industry.
Yin said demand for integrated information systems remained strong as the sector continued its digital and intelligent transformation.
“We will dedicate our professional resources to delivering reliable, high-quality services that support the safe, efficient, and intelligent operation of our client’s production facilities, and we look forward to further expanding our cooperation,” he said.
The award provides Recon with a project delivery pipeline extending into 2028 and further expands its work in oilfield informatization, system integration and associated technical services.
