Cero Generation, a leading solar project developer, today announced the commencement of commercial operations at its 48MW Castrum agrivoltaics (agriPV) project in Montalto di Castro, western Italy. This landmark project, spanning 86 hectares, integrates solar power generation with ongoing agricultural land cultivation, exemplifying innovative sustainable land use.

The Castrum project is set to provide clean energy to the Italian grid, with all power generated being sold to Centrica Energy under a long-term power purchase agreement (PPA). This collaboration underscores a commitment to advancing renewable energy infrastructure while maintaining agricultural productivity.

The successful activation of the Castrum project highlights Cero Generation’s dedication to pioneering hybrid land-use models that maximize efficiency and promote environmental stewardship in the renewable energy sector.
