BOSS Solutions has launched a new project management add-on for its BOSSDesk platform, bringing project planning, task management, resource allocation, cost tracking and performance reporting into a single operational environment.

The new functionality is designed to help organisations manage projects alongside their existing day-to-day operations, reducing the need for separate project management applications.

Available as part of the latest BOSSDesk release, the add-on provides tools for managing the project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring and closure.

The launch targets organisations seeking to consolidate project information that would otherwise be distributed across spreadsheets, documents, emails and standalone software platforms.

Centralised project planning and delivery

BOSSDesk Project Management introduces a centralised workspace where teams can create projects, assign responsibilities, establish milestones and monitor delivery progress.

The platform supports task allocation, priority setting and deadline management, allowing project managers to oversee individual activities and track completion.

A visual Planning Board, incorporating Gantt charts, enables teams to organise project activities and monitor schedules.

Milestone tracking provides visibility of key deliverables and deadlines, while project status dashboards allow managers and stakeholders to review progress across ongoing work.

The add-on also includes resource and cost management capabilities, enabling organisations to monitor project team members, budgets and actual expenditure.

Project documentation can be stored within the same environment, alongside reporting tools designed to provide information on project performance and productivity.

Notifications and updates keep team members informed about assignments, approaching deadlines and changes to project activities.

Project management integrated with operational workflows

The new functionality extends the existing BOSSDesk platform by allowing project-related activities to be managed alongside broader operational work.

For organisations already using BOSSDesk, the integration is intended to reduce the need to move between separate systems when coordinating projects and routine business activities.

The company said the approach could also help address fragmented project information, particularly where teams rely on multiple applications to manage tasks, schedules, documentation and reporting.

Vishi Raghavan of BOSS Solutions said the new capabilities were developed to improve project visibility and coordination.

“Project teams need visibility, accountability, and a clear understanding of the priorities based on the current state and what needs to happen next,” Raghavan said.

“With Project Management, BOSSDesk gives organizations a centralized workspace to organize project work, track progress, and keep teams aligned.”

Flexible approach to project delivery

BOSS Solutions said the add-on is designed to accommodate different project types and organisational workflows.

Teams can use the platform to manage internal initiatives, coordinate cross-functional projects or oversee programmes involving multiple tasks, responsibilities and deliverables.

Projects can be structured around individual organisational processes, with tasks assigned to one or more team members and monitored through the visual planning interface.

The company is positioning the new functionality as an alternative for organisations that require structured project management capabilities without investing in a separate enterprise project management system.

By combining scheduling, resource management, financial tracking and reporting within its existing platform, BOSS Solutions aims to provide a more integrated approach to managing operational and project-based work.

BOSSDesk Project Management is available now as part of the platform’s latest software release.
